Attention Athletes: Your Whereabouts Deadlines are changing!

The deadline for athletes to submit their Whereabouts each quarter is changing, in line with the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code and other National Anti-Doping Organisation deadlines.

Athletes in a UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) Testing Pool will already be very familiar with the Whereabouts system and the importance of it, so UKAD can test athletes with no advanced notice.

Athletes are subject to testing 365 days a year. Whereabouts information (dates, times and locations) is information submitted to UKAD by an athlete, that allows the athlete to be located for unannounced, out-of-competition testing.

We know this may not be an athlete’s favourite clean sport task, but it’s essential for our team to catch those who are intentionally doping in sport.

All athletes on a UKAD testing pool must submit their Whereabouts on a quarterly basis, and the deadline for this was the last day of each quarter (31 December, 31 March, 30 June and 30 September). The new quarterly Whereabouts submission deadlines will be:

  • 15 March, 23:59 GMT

  • 15 June, 23:59 BST

  • 15 September, 23:59 BST

  • 15 December, 23:59 GMT

UKAD’s Whereabouts Support Officer, Emma Rylands said: “The new Whereabouts deadline is something athletes will need to keep front of mind when they next enter and update this information in ADAMS.

“This now means that the next quarterly submission deadline is Monday 15 March, so make sure you mark this date in your calendars now to avoid a Filing Failure in the future.”
