UKAD's Publication Scheme

A guide to the information that UK Anti-Doping routinely publishes. 

UK Anti-Doping has adopted the Information Commissioner’s Office Model Publication Scheme. This page explains the types of information we routinely make available, where to find it, and how to request information that is not already published. 

This publication scheme supports UKAD’s obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and is intended for publication as an accessible HTML web page. 

How to access information 

Most information in this publication scheme is available on the UKAD website. Where information is listed as available on request, you can ask for it by emailing foi@ukad.org.uk. 

Before making a request, please search the UKAD website to check whether the information is already available. 

Information classification 

The information below is organised using the seven classes in the ICO model publication scheme. 

When information may not be available 

Some information may not be published or disclosed if an exemption applies under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or another legal restriction prevents disclosure. 

If UKAD withholds information, we will explain which exemption applies and why, unless doing so would reveal exempt information. 

Requesting information that is not published 

If the information you need is not listed in this publication scheme, or is not otherwise available on the UKAD website, you can make a Freedom of Information request. 

Requests should be made in writing and should include your name, contact details and a clear description of the information you are asking for. 

Where information is available on the UKAD website, the web address is: www.ukad.org.uk. 

You can request information by email or post to our FOI Team.

If the information you require is not mentioned in the Publication Scheme, or is not otherwise available on the website, you should write, quoting Freedom of Information, to the above email or postal address quoting your address for response. 

Information will be released within 20 working days of receipt under the FOI Act unless an exemption applies, in which case you will be informed. 

If you are unhappy with our response 

If you are dissatisfied with UKAD’s response, you may request an internal review. If you remain dissatisfied after the internal review, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. 

Internal review 

If you are dissatisfied with our response you may request that UKAD review the decision or reconsider whether you have received all the information to which you are entitled. A Director who was not involved in the original request will undertake the Review and will inform you in writing of the outcome. Details of how to request an Internal Review will be provided in UKAD’s letter of response to the original request. 

Complaint to the Information Commissioner 

If you remain dissatisfied after the internal review and feel we have not complied with our obligations under the Freedom of Information Act, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. The ICO asks people to use its online complaint service where possible. 

Copyright and re-use 

The copyright in the material accessed through this Publication Scheme is owned by UKAD unless otherwise stated. The supply of information under the FOI Act does not give the person or organisation who receives it an automatic right to re-use the documents or information in any way that would infringe copyright, for example, by making multiple copies, publishing and issuing copies to the public or placing the information and documents on websites. To do so you must get express permission from UKAD. 

Brief extracts of the material may be reproduced under the fair dealing provisions of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (sections 29 and 30) for the purposes of research for non-commercial purposes, private study, criticism, review and news reporting, provided it is reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading manner.  When re-using this material, you must identify the source of the material and acknowledge the copyright status. If in doubt, contact the Legal Department (FOIs) for further details at foi@ukad.org.uk.

However, permission to reproduce material does not extend to any material accessed through the Publication Scheme that is not owned by UKAD but is the copyright of third parties. You must obtain authorisation to reproduce such material from the copyright holders concerned. 

Under the terms of the Re-Use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015 information can be re-used by an individual, a company or other organisation. This is sometimes, though not always, on a commercial basis. 

Requesting your personal data 

Requests for your personal data are dealt with under the Data Protection Act 2018 as a Subject Access Request. If you want to ask whether UKAD holds any personal information about you, you should write to the FOI team. 

You are required to provide proof of your identity. This should include a copy of the identification pages of your current passport or of a current photo driving licence, and an original current utilities (e.g. electricity) bill or credit card or bank statement that includes your name and current address. This would be returned to you if required. 

It would also be helpful if you could indicate which part of UKAD (i.e. which Department(s), or Directorate(s) or office(s) you believe might hold personal data on you to help narrow the search.
