Latest UKAD testing numbers increase again
- Levels of testing between October to December 2022 were the highest period in 2022
- 2,353 tests were conducted between October to December 2022

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) has released its testing report for the period of October to December 2022 (quarter three of 2022/23). Testing reports are published by UKAD quarterly.
UKAD conducted 2,353 tests in October to December 2022, an increase of 259 tests on the previous quarter of July to September 2022.
The most tested sports in quarter three were football, rugby league, rugby union, athletics and boxing. During quarter three, UKAD also conducted the sample collection for the Rugby League World Cup England 2021 in its official role as the event’s anti-doping contractor.
UKAD Deputy Director of Operations (Testing), Hamish Coffey, said: “The testing figures for quarter three are encouraging to see and I am pleased to confirm that the levels of testing have increased again in this quarter.
UKAD is also proud of the role played as the official anti-doping contractor for the Rugby League World Cup England 2021 and we thank all those who were involved in the administration of the doping control process during this period.”
UKAD delivers a comprehensive, risk-based testing programme across more than 40 sports. The Testing Programme is a vital tool in detecting and deterring athletes from cheating, assuring confidence in clean sport and protecting the integrity of sport.
