UK Anti-Doping achieves Investors in People accreditation

UK Anti-Doping has successfully achieved the Investors in People accreditation following three days of external assessment.

This award provides official recognition that UK Anti-Doping is investing in and committed to supporting its workforce to ensure everyone is able to contribute to the success of the organisation and is valued in doing so.

Having been assessed against the Investors in People standard of best practice in people management, UK Anti-Doping has demonstrated the successful implementation of processes that:

  • Actively enhance the knowledge, experience and skills of our employees/workers
  • Support the development of an organisational learning culture
  • Facilitate the creation of a high-performing environment
  • Demonstrate best practice in employee engagement.

The assessment comprised of 34 interviews, with staff, board members and Doping Control Personnel.

The Investors in People Standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation’s performance through its people. Developed in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses and national organisations, the Standard helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people.

The organisation’s accreditation will be subject to ongoing review every 18 months, therefore work will continue on all of the above success indicators and more.

UK Anti-Doping Chief Executive Andy Parkinson said: “This is a great way to end a great year for UK Anti-Doping, three years exactly since we started operating.

“UK Anti-Doping is a relatively small organisation that is totally focused on protecting sport. The successful creation of a high-performing environment has enabled us to meet and surpass the expectations placed on us in 2012.

“This accreditation has been achieved by staff for staff, not forgetting our large team of Doping Control Personnel and National Trainers based across the UK. I am very proud of all they have achieved this year.”
