In response to the news that CCES has been subject to a cyber-attack, a spokeswoman for UK Anti-Doping said, “We are aware of the recent cyber-attack on CCES and we are in touch with our colleagues in Canada, to ascertain the details of this breach so we can take the necessary steps to further safeguard our systems. We are currently not aware of any similar breach of the UKAD systems.
“Stakeholders should be assured that we take IT security very seriously. However, like many organisations, we are not immune to attempted cyber-attacks, and therefore we constantly monitor all our IT systems and update them as necessary, in line with the best IT security practices.
“We continue to strongly condemn attacks of this nature on the global anti-doping community and our systems; the only purpose they serve is to disrupt our work and put clean athletes at risk.”
