UK Anti-Doping statement, Friday 18 January 2013

In response to the Oprah Winfrey Show broadcast on the Oprah Winfrey Network, UK Anti-Doping issued the following statement:

“Cheating in any form is not and should not be permitted and anyone considering doping should be well aware of the potential consequences.

“To reiterate WADA’s statement, there are formal processes for athletes to talk about doping activities.

“Anti-doping authorities rely heavily on people speaking out and sharing information. At UK Anti-Doping, we have a dedicated hotline, hosted by Crimestoppers, for anyone wishing to speak in confidence. This is hugely important to the work that we do and underlines the fact that everyone in sport is responsible for a future free from doping.”
