Rugby League player will not serve ban following ADRV

Ryan Bailey, of Toronto Wolfpack Rugby League Football Club, will not serve a period of ineligibility following an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).

An independent National Anti-Doping Panel tribunal concluded that Mr Bailey had committed an ADRV of a refusal to submit to sample collection. The tribunal also concluded that there were ‘truly exceptional circumstances’ which meant he bore ‘No Fault or Negligence’.

As a result, the otherwise applicable period of ineligibility was eliminated.

Mr Bailey was selected for testing following a Toronto Wolfpack training session on 30 May 2017 by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES), at the Lamport Stadium in Toronto, on behalf of UKAD.
