British athlete banned by USADA for 12 months

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) today confirmed that the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has imposed a twelve-month ban from all sport on British UFC athlete, James Mulheron, following an Anti-Doping Policy Violation.

Mr Mulheron tested positive for clomiphene and its metabolite, hydroxyclomiphene, following an out-of-competition urine test conducted on 10 November 2017. Clomiphene is a Specified Substance in the class of Hormone and Metabolic Modulators and is prohibited at all times under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, which has adopted the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List.

Mr Mulheron’s one-year period of ineligibility began on 17 November 2017, the date his provisional suspension was imposed, and will end at midnight on 16 November 2018.

USADA carried out the test as the official, independent anti-doping agency for the UFC.
