British Athlete Banned by USADA for 12 Months

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) today confirmed that the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has imposed a twelve-month ban from all sport on British athlete, Nana Owusu, following an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).

Mr Owusu, who trained and competed in the United States, was sanctioned by USADA for his possession and use of a dietary supplement containing ostarine – an anabolic agent and non-specified substance that, under the WADA Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List, is prohibited at all times.

The 26-year-old has been disqualified from all competitive results obtained on, and subsequent to, 25 August 2015 – the date he ordered the dietary supplement containing ostarine – and has forfeited any medals, points and prizes obtained since that time.

Mr Owusu is banned for all sport from 8 January 2017 until 7 January 2018.
