Andy Parkinson
Andy Parkinson is the first Chief Executive of UK Anti-Doping and was appointed to the position in August 2009. Andy has been involved in sport for many years. He headed up the anti-doping operation at UK Sport as Director of Drug-Free Sport and prior to this held the position of Head of Operations. Before joining UK Sport in 2006, Andy was Medical and Scientific Director at the International Paralympic Committee. In May 2012, Andy was elected as Chair of the Ad hoc European Committee for the World Anti-Doping Agency (CAHAMA), effective from November 2012.
Tony Josiah
Tony was appointed to Acting Director of Operations at UK Anti-Doping in March 2013 to cover the maternity leave of Nicole Sapstead.
Previously, Tony has worked as Case Manager at UK Anti-Doping since the organisation formed in December 2009. Prior to this, he worked for eight years as the Results Process Manager in the anti-doping department at UK Sport.
Graham Arthur
As Director of Legal, Graham is responsible for managing both analytical and non-analytical results, consistent with the World Anti-Doping Code and UK Anti-Doping Rules.
Graham brings a wealth of experience in anti-doping and has acted as Counsel to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for the past five years. In addition he has worked with law enforcement agencies on intellectual property enforcement matters.
Nicola Newman
Nicola is responsible for overseeing the management and development of our communications, education and information strategies - all fundamental to our goal of protecting the right of athletes to compete in doping-free sport.
Nicola has extensive experience in communications, having worked at director level within both the public and private education sectors for more than 12 years. As a former runner, hockey player and rower, Nicola also brings to UK Anti-Doping a great enthusiasm for sport. Nicola joined the Board of Directors at British Shooting in October 2012.
Paul Evans
As Director of Business Support, Paul is responsible for the financial and resource management of UK Anti-Doping. He is a qualified chartered accountant, having trained at the National Audit Office. Formerly the Director of Corporate Services for the Children’s Commissioner for England, he brings a wealth of experience in risk management, financial control, human resources and business administration. In March 2013, Paul was voted onto the Institute of National Anti-Doping Organisations Board of Directors for a three-year term.
Nicole Sapstead
Former Head of Operations for Drug-Free Sport at UK Sport, Nicole was appointed to Director of Operations at UK Anti-Doping in October 2009. She is responsible for overseeing the delivery of our testing programme, intelligence function and science and medicine portfolio.
Nicole has over 12 years experience in anti-doping and nine years working for an anti-doping organisation. Nicole is on maternity leave for 6-9 months from February 2013.
