Students learning about science in sport
UK Anti-Doping is working with GlaxoSmithKline to support the Scientists in Sport schools outreach programme, inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This programme targets school children aged 11-14 years old who are engaged in sport at a local level. These young athletes and their teachers attend open days at universities to learn about the role science plays in sport.
UK Anti-Doping delivers an interactive presentation on science in anti-doping. The presentation leads an anti-doping ethical debate with the children and young people, supporting them in learning about the values and morals required to be successful in sport.
Through this partnership with GSK, UK Anti-Doping aims to reach over 1,000 young athletes at the start of their sporting journey.
