Students learning about science in sport

BASES is the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK and its mission is to promote excellence within this field.

BASES published their Clean Sport Commitment in 2013 and work closely with UK Anti-Doping to  develop an education and information programme, supporting BASES staff and BASES members to operate within the anti-doping rules and help athletes to meet their anti-doping responsibilities. To date, BASES and UK Anti-Doping have created a Clean Sport BASES interest group, UKAD has run Outreach at BASES conferences and also hosted a webinar on supplements as part of the BASES CPD programme. The collective aim is to support current and future sport and exercise science practitioners to actively contribute to clean sport though their own actions and those of the athletes they support.

BASES members will also be expected to contact UKAD, in confidence, should they become aware of any athlete or NGB staff member considering the usage of a prohibited substance or prohibited method.
