Effective testing programmes are essential to tackling doping in sport.
At a high performance and elite level of your sporting career, you will be subject to out-of-competition testing. You may also be part of a National Registered Testing Pool (NRTP) and an International Registered Testing Pool (IRTP).
National Registered Testing Pool (NRTP)
The NRTP is a requirement for the UK’s top athletes, to ensure that UK Anti-Doping can continue to underpin their achievements as clean.
Athletes nominated for inclusion in the NRTP will be notified by UK Anti-Doping. They are required to supply details of their whereabouts on an online system called ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration Management System).
Submission of an athlete’s whereabouts is called a Whereabouts Filing. Athletes have to provide a variety of details including a one-hour testing slot in which they make themselves available for out-of-competition testing. Approximately 400 athletes across 13 sports are included in UK Anti-Doping’s NRTP. Additional athletes and sports can be selected or deselected at any time.
UK Anti-Doping’s 100% me programme supports athletes in recording and updating detailed and accurate whereabouts information.
For further information visit the ADAMS section of the website.
